Apitherapy Products from the Hive
Honeybee venom has been used for centuries by various cultures to treat many medical diseases and disorders. Primarily, we utilize Bee Venom Therapy for athritis and Multiple Sclerosis; however, bee venom has been used to treat/cure the following as well:
* Chronic Pain * Bursitis * Migraines * Slow Healing Wounds * Ligament Injuries * and many others.
Bee Venom Therapy is achieved via direct stings from live honey bees into the specific affected area. Because of the seasonality of beekeeping in central Utah, Bee Venom Therapy is only available during the warmer parts of the year (typically March to November).
There are two options for Bee Venom Therapy - making an appointment for treatment or purchasing bees separately for at home administration. Appointments need to be scheduled at least 3 days in advance to ensure collection of bees.

Pollen collected by honey bees is utilized as a medicinal treatment and as a protien
source. Locally collected pollen can help the affects of allergies when taken orally in a capsule or by direct ingestion. As a food it can be added to smoothies, granola recipes, cereals etc.
Pollen is collected at the entrance of the hive and is then stored in a frozen state to ensure the best preservation. Pollen stored in a frozen state retains its potency for up to a year.

Propolis is a substance created by honey bees as a means to secure their hive; as a
sealant for cracks/minor holes and as a method of securing any loose structures (think
of the frames inside a man-made hive). This substance is made from resinous excretions
from plants and beeswax. Propolis has been shown to have very strong anti-bacterial,
anti-microbial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties. Propolis may also have anti-cancer
compounds and may help with free radical particles.
Propolis is gathered from the hives during the honey extraction and general cleaning
processes. The raw propolis is then stored in the freezer or is ground into a powder
and then stored in the freezer.

Beeswax is used in many types of cosmetic preparations
including our own lotions, lip balms, balms and soaps. Beeswax
can also be used as a vehicle for the administration of some medicines since beeswax
readily absorbs most pharmaceuticals (think suppositories). Beeswax can also be used
for candles, artwork polishes, varnishes etc. Our beeswax is process only from cappings and
is therefore of a higher quality and lighter color and is available in 4 sizes:
